A Church Where God Is Love
Established in 2015, the goal of Life Worth Living Church is to help each member develop a life that pleases the God who created them, to fulfill the potential inside themselves, and to enrich the world around them. In order to have a life worth living, we believe that we must first understand the Word of God and God's covenant principles. One must become a disciple through Biblical truths who is spirit-filled, faith-based and trained in the Word of God. If you are not a disciple, you are at a disadvantage. Therefore, in this season, we are focusing on what it means to become a disciple, what it means to be in a covenant with Christ, and what it means to be in covenant with a church family. Everything we build on has to be the Word, which gives value to what we say and do.
Life Worth Living Church has been under the leadership of Pastor John "J" Finney since the year 2015.
Our Mission
The purpose of Life Worth Living Church is to make disciples of men, women, and youth for the glory of God. Everything we build on has to be the Word, which gives value to what we say and do.
The Word says:
Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Our Pastor
Pastor John Finney, also known as Pastor J or Israel, has answered the call of the Lord to make disciples of nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Pastor J has been involved with ministry and outreach for over 30 years. He has been the Pastor of Life Worth Living Church since 2015 and has overseen the creation of the Alabaster Box a food and clothing closet that feeds hundreds of local families in the Wilmington, DE area on a weekly basis. He spearheaded Wilmington’s next community resource facility, The Hope Center For Community Empowerment. Along with his humanitarian efforts, Pastor J is also a thriving businessman with several different ventures and influences.
He is married to Danielle and they cherish 6 children: Jaquoya, Briana, John jr., Bobby, Angel, and Ciara.
